Cover of Easy Rider [Region 2]Let's kick it old school with the 1969 classic motorcycle flick "Easy Rider".
Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper star as drug selling biker hippies on a long ride across the U.S. They manage to get themselvs locked in fu**butt U.S.A. with an alcoholic lawyer played by Jack Nicholson. The beautiful irony comes when Nicholson gets them out of the pan and into the fire -- so to speak. I just hope ole Jack's conscience is clear.
The fellas ride on as any good hippie would, stopping at a commune and Mardi Gras then on again. These two acid dropping, pot smoking roling stones are guaranteed to gather no moss in this classic.
After so much beautiful American scenery you won't want it to end... But like this review it has to.
But be warned -- its not pretty. And for that very reason I give "Easy Rider" 3.5 stars out of 5.
Great Americana, beautiful cinematography, outstanding soundtrack; but some bad surprises. It's a little too real life, but it's still well worth the five bucks and ninty six minutes it will cost you to see this unforgettable classic.
Just wanted to mention, this review was originally written before Dennis Hopper passed away. RIP to a fine actor, and one of my personal heroes.
